The U 13s lost to top of the table Lymington last night by 2 runs. All 9 boys that bowled did well as we restricted Lymington to 87. Harry's brilliant caught and bowled the highlight. We then sporting provided Lymington with an additional fielder as they only had 10 players. That in the end probably cost us the game with the runs the extra fielder saved! When did I become such a good sport!
At 21/5 it all looked over but a great partnership between James (30) and Josh(22) got us back into the game. Lymington whose top 4 bats also bowled all the overs did bowl well as we fell just 2 runs short. A great team effort again. Totton at home in the cup on Wednesday and training as normal on Monday. Under 9s have won their cup match this evening by 63 runs against Brockenhurst to go into the quarter finals. Well done to a fantastic group of players who have now won 3 in a row!
The U9s this evening beat Lyndhurst by 23 runs. Well done to the team and coach. Two wins in a row for them.
The U13 team beat Lymington 2 this evening by 25 runs. Batting first they scored 107/1. Connor 32 retired and James 29 not out. Lymington finished on 82/3. Young u 11 players Reg and Jake both got a wicket each. Well done team.
Pylewell Park at home next Thursday meet 6pm. No training on the Bank Holiday Monday. In a tight game Fawley u9s beat Pylewell 2s by 2 runs. 297 runs vs 295 runs.. close call for the 9's at Pylewell Park!
What a really great effort from all the U13 team this evening losing a close game against a good New Milton side. Having lost Max to illness just before the start the team took to the field with only 10. New Milton very supportingly lent as a fielder throughout. New Milton ended up 114/6 after 18 overs. All the boys bowler really well. Tom F with 2 wickets. Tom C , James, Sam and Josh all with one each. Connor with 2 good catches.
In reply Connor and Jack N put on 40 before Jack was out to a very good catch for 11. Connor ended up being retired for an excellent 30. With it almost pitch black all the boys had a really good go. We ended up on I think 98/9 so lost by 16 but a very proud coach of the effort put in. We are at home next Thursday against Lymington so it's meet at the club at 5-50. Training as normal on Monday. Just need a sponsor now for coloured kit like New Milton! |
